PipeXP vs GitHub Agents tab and /pulls

Your code is already on GitHub, and with a Copilot subscription its Agents tab shows Copilot sessions, including local ones from the Copilot CLI and editors. PipeXP is for teams whose agents are Codex and Claude on their own machines, and who need to know whose turn every PR is.

Facts about GitHub as of 25 Sep 2026, each linked to its source. PipeXP as shipped on that date.

Where GitHub wins

  • One vendor: Copilot Business, $19 a user a month on top of your GitHub plan, includes the cloud agent and code review.[1][2][10][31][34]
  • Copilot code review can review every PR. PipeXP does not review code.[11]
  • You can steer or stop a Copilot session from the Agents tab.[3]
  • Team auto-assignment, stacked PRs (preview) and a merge queue.[7][9][10]
  • SAML SSO, SOC 2 and Slack reminders.[8][23][24]

Where PipeXP wins

  • Codex and Claude runs on your developers' Macs, by stage. GitHub shows Claude and Codex only when they run inside GitHub, and local sessions only from Copilot's own tools.[3][5]
  • Whose turn on every PR, named. GitHub's inbox implies it from its sections.[6]
  • Rubber-stamp flags, tester sign-off, time split per PR and a Main is red bar. None found in GitHub's docs.
  • A Needs me summary in Microsoft Teams. GitHub's personal reminder is Slack only.[8][17][18]

All plans and limits

Use both?

Most teams keep GitHub and add PipeXP: GitHub for the code and Copilot, PipeXP for the whole team's agent runs and PR turns in one view.[3][4]
